I had a few things to pick up at Target over the weekend; lip balm and eyeshadow weren’t on the list, but who can blame me!? I’ve been a fan of the Pacifica line for some time, having picked up their Tuscan Blood Orange Body Butter at Sephora a few years back, so I decided to give their lip tint a try. I like that the brand is mindful of its ingredients and I think this may be the first lip balm I’ve used that is coconut oil based. The color is a beautiful plummy fig but rather sheer, which is fine with me. I just hope it hydrates as well as it claims. I will definitely update my thoughts on this product after using it a little more.

I’ve already gushed about Sonia Kashuk’s Pearlescence Longwear Creme Eyeshadows, so I’ll keep this brief. I grabbed diamond while cruising down the makeup aisle and from a color test on my lid, it is a very sheer wash of champagne-colored sparkle that I think will be perfect when paired with a dark, red or berry lip over the holiday season.

After falling in love with the G. H. Bass & Co. Whitney II Ballet flats , I decided to pick up the Marissa Driver in fuschia. No regrets!  This shoe is so comfortable, though I went a half size up this time. The fuschia is such a great option to have when you tend toward neutral colors as I do. This shoe also comes in a gorgeous blue that I may not be able to resist and it’s on sale now if you’re interested.

I may have gotten a little carried away when I went to pull my favorite shades of plum out of my makeup collection but I promise that this the last post in the series (see part 1 and part 2). In my defense, as someone who really doesn’t look good in peach or coral, I am always happy when plum, violet or berry get a lot of play in makeup collections/releases. Today a friend emailed me to ask about paraben-free body lotions, specifically wanting to know if I could recommend a drugstore brand, and I was so irritated with myself because this post was sitting in my draft folder instead of on my blog! I just got home from work and am determined to finish it now, as I know that the colder months will only bring further inquiries.

Without further ado: SheaMoisture is one of my favorite drugstore brands, hands down. I love the brand’s story (read here), ingredients and products– which is rare for me. For the most most part, I have stayed within the confines of SheaMoisture’s lotions and oils, but I am also eager to give their new makeup line a try. If anyone is already using their makeup, let me know your thoughts in the comments!

I can’t believe that I’ve added three of these Too Faced La Creme Color Drenched Lipsticks to my makeup collection in the last thirty days. First I bought Naughty Nude and Nude Beach— swearing then to try a berry-colored lipstick next.

And I did! Bumbleberry is everything I wanted. The color payoff is unreal and the color itself is– I don’t know how to describe it. It makes me feel like my eyes instantly pop (my eyes are dark green) and my skin glows. I love it. Most of the time when I find a color that I love this much, the formula is so dry that I rarely wear it but these lipsticks are so moisturizing that the color just glides on and shines.
