If you missed the 90s, I’m sorry. If you missed 90s makeup– I am doubly sorry. While it may appear dated to some (which, yes– by definition it is dated), there were classic aspects to the look that I still remember with fondness.
What I remember the most about 90s makeup is Kevyn Aucoin’s influence, specifically with the supermodels of the day, which means a brownish-pink nude lip paired with matte skin and natural eyeshadow.
Having a hard time wearing a nude lip, as most shades wash me out, I am thrilled that the brownish-pink nude lip colors are back because I can always find one that flatters my coloring.
My favorite shade so far is Too Faced’s Lip Creme in Naughty Nude. I love the soft, creamy texture but will warn you that this lipstick requires reapplication. It’s still worth it to me, though, because the color is spot on. So, welcome back, 90s. For now, at least.
