I’ve been using the Mighty Concealer Pen from Napoleon Perdis everyday for the last two weeks, which is the first hint that I love this concealer. I am extremely picky about concealers and have no issue with skipping that step in my makeup routine when unsatisfied with the products on hand.
Now, I use this concealer under my eyes but have actually used it on other areas of my face due to a small user error so let me tell you all about it.
First off, this concealer has taught my an important lesson about concealing under my eyes. For years, I have been trying to use pink or salmon-toned concealers under my eyes because peachy colors are supposed to cancel out the bluish-purple hued discoloration many of us have under our eyes. I am sure you’ve also heard this advice. I’ve gone through a multitude of expensive, holy-grail level concealers because of this advice and have hated every single one of them. Usually, instead of covering my discoloration– a peach-toned concealer ends up making me look sick. This makes sense, since the only other time eyes are rimmed with such a color is when I am sick.
But having a neutral skin tone, I never even questioned if the color of the concealer was connected to my dissatisfaction. However, Napoleon Perdis has taught me that a yellow-toned concealer is not out of the question and actually works better for me at brightening my under-eye area.
Instead of changing the color under my eyes– the Mighty Concealer Pen brightened my eyes. A lot. Be careful, this concealer spreads and blends easily but it is also HIGHLY pigmented. A little goes a long way and a few too many clicks will serve up more product than most people need under their eyes.
Because of this– I ended up using the excess on other areas of my face and — truth be told — it wasn’t a terrible experience. The coverage was full-on amazing though way too heavy for what I feel comfortable with, but I know someone people enjoy that look and this is a concealer that I think people could away with using on areas outside of the eye if so desired.
The only time I had trouble with creasing or falling into fine lines is when I used too much product. For me, using just a few small dabs under each eye covers and brightens perfectly because the pigmentation is so awesome. I LOVE THIS CONCEALER; I wear it everyday!
Though I did get this product highly discounted at Ulta, I will definitely be repurchasing it and I never thought I would say that about a concealer.
